Book on Social Issues Released

BHUBANESWAR: “Socio-psychological Analysis of Social Issues”, a book that tracks sociological and psychological roots of current social issues, was released here on Saturday.

The book, authored by Smita Mohanty and Satyavrata Panda, deals with critical issues involving happiness, stress, anxiety, psycho dynamics of alcoholism, motivation at work place as well as sensitive issues of mental retardation.

Vice-Chancellor of University of Culture DN Jena was the chief guest of the function while Resident Editor, The New Indian Express, Odisha Srimoy Kar was the chief speaker.

Published by Delhi-based SSDN Publishers and Distributors, the book also analyses the role of anxiety experienced by journalists and various issues of mass media. The authors have also examined self-efficacy and its impact on performance of people in different contexts.

Director of Birla Institute of Management and Technology Dr Parameshwar Nayak and noted psychologist Dr PK Mishra also spoke. Mohanty delivered the welcome address while Panda offered the vote of thanks.
