BHUBANESWAR: The Ethics Committee of the Assembly will meet on Tuesday to fix modalities for investigation into the alleged viewing of objectionable clips by Congress member Naba Kishore Das in his mobile phone in the House on December 14, 2015.

Das was suspended from the House for seven days by Speaker Niranjan Pujari on December 15 after a motion brought by Government chief whip Anant Prasad Das was passed by a voice vote during the zero hour. The Speaker had also referred the matter to the Ethics Committee for investigation.

The Congress and BJP members had opposed suspension of Das by saying the MLA was not given a chance to defend himself.
