Women's Car Rally in City on March 6

BHUBANESWAR: The City will witness an all women’s car rally with a motto ‘pledge for parity’ to promote gender equality on March 6, two days before the International Women’s Day. The rally will also spread awareness about traffic safety.

Maximum four women will be allowed to be a part of one car of any brand with one being on the wheels, another as navigator and two others as supporters. All participants need to be above 18 years of age and the driver should have a valid driving licence. The rally, organised by Carnival, a leading creative agency, and Seva Prayas Foundation, will be flagged off from KIIT campus and culminate at 7th Battalion.

Registration of participants is open online at www.carrally.in and offline through volunteers deployed at various malls. On the day of the rally, a road map will be provided to the participants.

“Since progress towards gender parity has slowed down in many places, the ‘pledge for parity’ theme is a call for action to accelerate it,” said chief advisor of the foundation Namrata Chadda at a press meet on Saturday.

Activist Linkan Subudhi, sportspersons Anuradha Biswal, Valena Valentina and television anchor Sulagna Routray were present.
