Caravan to Check Human Trafficking in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: To raise awareness against human trafficking, ‘Swaraksha’, an Anti Human Trafficking Caravan, will travel to all 30 districts of the State. The campaign will start from Gajapati district in March and converge at Khurda in May.

Organised by Prajwala in collaboration with US Consulate of Hyderabad, the caravan is targeting to cover 132 million people.

In a letter to Special DG, Crime Bijay Sharma, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Women and Child Development Vishal Dev said the campaign will be conducted to increase awareness among people about human trafficking and sex crimes. All Anti Human Trafficking Units and Mahila and Sishu Help Desks should be instructed to participate in the campaign, the letter stated.
