BHUBANESWAR: A 30-year-old youth was arrested by Sahid Nagar police on charges of collecting money from job aspirants on the pretext of facilitating employment.
The accused was identified Sri Hari Nayak, a resident of Madhusudhan Nagar under Kharvela Nagar police limits. Nayak received payments to the tune of `10 lakh from a dozen of job-seekers from different parts of the State.
He had promised the gullible candidates of providing them jobs in Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Regional Museum in the City.
Police arrested Nayak on the basis of a complaint filed by one Yuvraj Sahoo of Badamba in Cuttack district. The accused was booked under Section 420 of the IPC and remanded in judicial custody.
