BHUBANESWAR: Manager of Ram Mandir Trust Board Mahavir Sharma was brutally attacked by miscreants here on Monday night. He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital by Kharvela Nagar police.

The attackers, identified as Bhagaban Mohapatra and his brother, have been detained and are being questioned, IIC Sanjeev Satpathy said.

Sources said on Monday morning, Mohapatra, who runs a snacks stall outside Ram Mandir, had asked Sharma for the key of a room in the temple complex. Sharma had rejected the demand for which Mohaptra nursed a grudge against him.

At around 9 pm, Mohapatra and his brother attacked Sharma who was alone on temple premises.
