BHUBANESWAR: The Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Deputy General Manager of Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB), Bhubaneswar, Prasanta Kumar Mohanty, on charges of criminal conspiracy and forgery.
Mohanty had allegedly sanctioned and released loans to the tune of Rs 3.08 crore to ineligible and hoax beneficiaries.
As many as 67 persons were given loans on the basis of forged pay cheques and many unauthorised documents, Vigilance sources said.
In this connection, the Cuttack Vigilance Division had registered a case in December, 2014 under Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is on.
