Odisha State Cabinet Likely to Meet Today

BHUBANESWAR: The State Cabinet is likely to meet on Friday to approve proposals on setting up Food and Law Commissions.

However, opposition political parties, Congress and BJP, raised doubts over the effectiveness of these two Commissions. The State Government has realised the necessity of these two Commissions very late, Leader of the Opposition Narsingh Mishra said and added that steps should be initiated to fill up these bodies so that they can function effectively.

Echoing similar views, senior BJP leader Sajjan Sharma said the Commissions should be constituted to address issues faced by people. However, it should not be set up to take credit only, he added.
