SALEPUR: The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) of Cuttack Police, PK Tripathy, on Friday went to Nischintakoili police station and recorded the statements of the IIC and the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in a Dalit harassment case.
Sources said Uttam Charan Sethy, a Dalit of Ramakrishnapur village, was beaten up by three persons of the village at Nischintakoili market on May 28, 2014 over political rivalry.
When Sethy went to Nischintakoili police station to file an FIR, the ASI, instead of accepting the FIR, had scolded him.
Later, Sethy filed a complaint in this regard before the HRPC.
