BJP draws rural poll plans

BHUBANESWAR: The State functionaries of the BJP on Monday chalked out strategies for the ensuing panchayat polls to be held in February, 2017.

A meeting of the core committee of the party chaired by State unit president Basanta Panda deliberated on a number of issues to be raised before the public to attack the ruling BJD and Opposition Congress. The core committee meeting was followed by a meeting of the State functionaries and district presidents.

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, national general secretary and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh, State co-in-charge Soudan Singh, national BJP secretary Suresh Pujari, all MLAs of the party, former ministers BB Harichandan, Bijay Mohapatra, Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders of the party attended.
