Gangapur village girl injured in gruesome acid attack
BERHAMBUR: In a gruesome incident, a 19-year-old girl of Gangapur village under Soroda police limits in Ganjam district sustained severe burn injuries after an unidentified miscreant threw acid on her late on Saturday night.
The assailant entered her house through the back door when the girl and her family members were asleep. He then threw acid on the girl and fled.
Hearing her scream, family members rushed her to Badagada hospital.
After first aid, she was referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH). The girl suffered burn injuries on head, face, hands and chest.
Police suspect love affair could be the reason behind the attack. They have started investigation into the matter and are questioning two youths. However, no police complaint has been lodged.
