Decomposed body of school student found in Odisha

A decomposed body of a class IX student was recovered from a drain at Balakrushnapur village in Ganjam district, police said today.

BERHAMPUR (Odisha): A decomposed body of a class IX student was recovered from a drain at Balakrushnapur village in Ganjam district, police said today.

The body of the 14-year-old boy, a student of the local high school, was recovered on Monday evening by his family members who took it home, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Purushottampur, Dillip Das, said.

After getting information, police seized the body and sent it for postmortem and the exact cause of the boy's death would be known after getting the autopsy report, he said. He, however, said there was no visible injury marks on the body , Raja Swain.

Family sources said the boy was missing from home since Saturday morning. When he did not return at night the villagers had searched for him and found his body floating in a drain on the outskirts of the village, the police said.
