Ex-supply inspector in Odisha gets three-year jail in disproportionate assets case

The court found that Behera had amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure in Government service.

BHUBANESWAR: A Vigilance Court on Saturday sentenced a former Civil Supplies Inspector, Shankarshan Behera, to three years imprisonment and penalty of Rs 10,000 after convicting him in a disproportionate assets (DA) case. 

The court found that Behera had amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure in Government service. 

Behera was posted at Satyabadi block in Puri district as a Civil Supplies Inspector. The Vigilance had registered a DA case against him 2001.
