BJP executive meet to review party progress

The meeting will make a review of the progress achieved in the organisational activities since BJP Chief Amit Shah's last visit in July.

BHUBANESWAR: The Supreme Court ruling on mega mining scam exposing the failure of State Government, agitations of block grant teachers and the worsening health services in rural areas are some of the key issues that will dominate the proceedings of the State Executive Committee meeting of the BJP here on Tuesday.

As president of the party Amit Shah is coming on a three-day tour to the State in the first week of September, the meeting will make a review of the progress achieved in the organisational activities since his last visit in July, State BJP general secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra said after a meeting of the party’s State functionaries.

Accusing the State Government of wrongly interpreting the apex court order to favour mining lease holders who had plundered mineral worth about `59,000 crore, Baxipatra said the party will decided next course of action against the Government to prevent it from diluting the Supreme Court order.
With the BJP supporting the demand of the block grant teachers of school and colleges, the meeting will also pass a resolution urging the State Government to fulfil the demand of the agitating teachers without further delay.

Deteriorating health services in rural areas, anti-farmers’ policy of the Government, failure to implement Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in urban areas, large scale corruption in Government offices and collection of ‘percentage’ at different levels of administration are part of the agenda to be discussed at the meeting, he added.

State BJP functionaries including, district presidents and pravaris attended. Baxipatra said four Union Ministers including Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan will attend the Executive Committee meeting.
Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will inaugurate the meeting to be presided by State BJP president Basant Panda. Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javedkar will address the concluding session.
National BJP general secretary and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh and  national general secretary (organisation) Soudan Singh will also  attend.
