CUTTACK: Panic gripped busy Badamabadi area after miscreants hurled bomb in front of the Durga Puja pandal leaving two persons injured on Saturday. The incident occurred in the evening hours while an orchestra programme was being organised. Badambadi police rushed to the spot and started a probe. Eyewitness said, two bike-borne miscreants hurled bomb at the mandap located a few metres from Badambadi police station and fled from the spot.
The bomb missed its target and exploded after falling on an autorickshaw carrying members of a family. While the autorickshaw was partially damaged, two women belonging to Pipili in Puri district sustained minor injuries and were rushed to a local hospital. Even as police claims to have arrested criminal Kalandi Khuntia in connection with a bombing incidents after an encounter on September 25, the bomb hurlings continues unabated.
