BARIPADA: Union Tribal Welfare Minister and senior BJP leader Jual Oram on Monday made a whirlwind tour of Mayurbhanj, campaigning for his party candidates. He was accompanied by film star-turned-politician Sritam Das.
While addressing two public meetings in Manida and Suliapada, Oram hailed the Central Government’s development schemes and flayed the State Government for alleged involvement of its ministers in scams.
Panchayat election in Rasgovindpur, Suliapada blocks, besides Modada, Betnoti, Udala and Kaptipada blocks of Mayurbhanj will be held on February 13. Here, the battle is between the BJD and BJP.
On the other hand, artiste-turned-politician, Kuna Tripathy campaigned for the BJD candidates here on Monday. He visited Udala and Kaptipada blocks along with the local BJD MLAs. Tripathy will campaign in other parts of the district as well, party sources said.
