Elderly killed,  mob lynches assailant

A 75-year-old man, Munku Oram, was killed by a youth on Thursday following an altercation over some issue.

SAMBALPUR: A 75-year-old man, Munku Oram, was killed by a youth on Thursday following an altercation over some issue. After the murder, an angry mob caught hold of the youth and lynched him at Gengutipali under Sambalpur Sadar police limits.  Sources said Tinchu Munda (27) attacked Munku, both from Gengutipali, with a baton. Munku sustained severe injuries following the attack and was admitted to VIMSAR, Burla.

Getting information, the angry villagers caught Tinchu and brutally assaulted him . He was admitted to Sambalpur district headquarters hospital.  Both Munku and Tinchu succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment. Police have seized the bodies and are inquiring into the matter. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
