CUTTACK: A day after a case was registered against two Government lawyers of Orissa High Court for allegedly outraging modesty of a lady Police Inspector, Lalbag police on Friday recorded statement of the victim before Judicial Magistrate, First Class (JMFC), Cuttack.

Commissionerate Police also requested the HC to provide footage of the CCTV camera installed inside the lift where the alleged incident took place. ‘’Further action will be initiated after verification of the CCTV footage,” said IIC, Lalbag police station Debadatta Baral.
On the other hand, the HC Bar Association claimed that the allegation of the lady cop was false and baseless. ‘’After due permission, we verified the CCTV footage and found nothing of the sort as alleged by the Inspector,’’ said association secretary Umesh Behura.

The association has drawn the attention of Chief Justice and Advocate General (AG) of Odisha in this regard as the incident occurred on the premises of the HC. It has also urged the Commissionerate Police to go through the CCTV footage, make an impartial enquiry and take necessary action as per law for false accusation, Behura added.
The lady Police Inspector, who is working with CID (CB), had gone to the HC for some official work on February 7 when two lawyers allegedly outraged her modesty inside the lift.
