ROURKELA:Plant Site police on Sunday preserved the body of a degree college student, identified as Dhiren Patras Tirkey, at the morgue of Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) after he died under mysterious circumstances in a lodge here.
Inspector in-charge (IIC) of Plant Site police station Upendra Pradhan said the student of Chandiposh area, accompanied by his girlfriend, had checked into the lodge near the Rourkela railway station on Saturday evening. As per preliminary investigation, the student complained of uneasiness and chest pain and was declared brought dead at the RGH about 9 pm, he added.
Police said it appeared that Tirkey died of cardiac arrest, but they are waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the exact reason behind the death. He said the body would be handed over to his family members on Monday after the arrival of his father from Mumbai.
