BERHAMPUR: The strike called by the Private Bus Owners’ Association, protesting shifting of the existing bus terminus to Haladiapadar, ended on Tuesday. The private bus operators called off the stir after a meeting with the State Transport Minister in Bhubaneswar. The Minister assured the members of the association that their demands will be considered and a decision taken accordingly within three months.
The private bus operators have been protesting a directive by the district administration to relocate the bus terminus to Haladiapadar.Passengers had to face a lot of inconvenience as private buses stayed off the roads prompting the district administration to engage 10 town buses to ply on important routes.
