The Orissa High Court on Thursday rejected the review petition of five persons including IAS officer and former Director of Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) Vinod

CUTTACK:  The Orissa High Court on Thursday rejected the review petition of five persons including IAS officer and former Director of Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) Vinod Kumar in a fraud case dating back to 2000 and directed them to appear before the Vigilance court by August 4.

A single bench of the HC comprising Justice JP Das, however, stated that the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against the petitioners shall not be executed till August 4. A Vigilance court on July 3 had convicted Kumar and five others for financial irregularities in ORHDC to the tune Rs 55 lakh.

Barring former assistant manager of ORHDC Sanjay Mohanty, none was present during pronouncement of verdict by the Vigilance court following which NBWs were issued against the five. Later, the five moved the HC challenging the decision of the lower court.
