Led by Baripada MLA Prakash Soren, the agitators said the state government should take disciplinary action against the officers whose negligence led to multiple security breaches during the President’s visit to Mayurbhanj district.

On May 6, Murmu was speaking at the 12th convocation ceremony of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University when the venue plunged into darkness after a power outage. The blackout lasted for around eight minutes.

Similarly, a pharmacist on duty at the helipad during Murmu’s visit managed to click his photographs while sitting on the boarding step of the President’s helicopter.  He also posed in front of the chopper for a photograph.
