Nallamudi View Point, which is around 15 km from Valparai town, was closed to tourists after a herd of wild elephants reportedly appeared in the area on Tuesday. Sources said tourists who arrived at Nallamudi Estate, returned disappointed due to the closure. Also, workers proceeding to tea estates in the vicinity were asked to return. Anti-poaching watchers were deployed at strategic points in Manamapally forest range to drive back the pachyderms in to the forest.
