Jaya to campaign at Puthukottai constituency on June 9

AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will make a whirlwind tour of the bypoll bound Puthukottai Assembly constituency on June 9 to campaign for her nominee VR Karthik Thondaiman, the party said today.

The Chief Minister will campaign at nine places in the constituency on Saturday where her party is locked in a direct face-off with main opposition, Vijayakant-led DMDK, also a former ally.

DMK is not facing the electoral challenge even as the ruling party had thumped opposition parties--DMDK, DMK and MDMK in the March 18 Sankarankoil bypoll.

The June 12 bypoll was necessitated by the death of CPI legislator P Muthukumaran in a road accident on April 1 .
