CPI not to interfere in Thali MLA's cases

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has made it clear that it will not interfere in the case against Thali constituency MLA A Ramachandran.

T Pandian, who made a silent visit to Salem on Friday, met Ramachandran at the Central prison here, where the MLA has been lodged in connection with the murder case of Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam functionary Palani.

Cases of illegal quarrying of granite have also been slapped against Ramachandran. The visit was in the wake of the Krishnagiri District Principal Court rejecting the bail plea of the MLA on Friday. Talking to media, Pandian said Ramachandran would face the cases and the party would not interfere.
