Puducherry government would be taking steps to set up a task force to promote manufacturing of electronic products, and will soon roll out the state’s electronic policy, said  Chief Secretary M Sathiavathy. Speaking at the national workshop on Electronic System Design and Manufacturing, she said that industrial representatives will be included in the task force, who would work out strategies to make Puducherry a favourable destination for electronic industry.

The government is also planning to come out with a state electronic policy to give further impetus to the electronic components and products manufacturing, to ensure that Puducherry’s lost glory as the hardware capital of India is restored.
