UT civic polls: Tamil Nadu CM deputes senior leaders

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday deputed three senior functionaries of the party as election in-charges for the ensuing local body elections in the UT.

Minister for Environment MC Sampath and MP, N Balaganga, were appointed as election in-charges for Puducherry while Food Minister R Kamaraj would look after Karaikal district. The AIADMK chief had asked the party functionaries to extend full cooperation to the in-charges in winning the local body polls scheduled for Jan 4, 8 and 10.Those who wish to contest the local body polls could file their forms at the AIADMK office at Uppalam. For Karaikal, the functionaries should file their at the party office in Karaikal.
