A 29-year-old man and four of his family were booked under Dowry Harassment Act by police personnel of all women police station, Vellore, on Friday, following a complaint from a 23-year-old woman.
According to police, Suruthi lodged a complaint stating that her husband, Sridhar (29), was impotent and unfit for a family life. Sridhar’s family had deliberately hidden the fact before their marriage she alleged.
Within three days of the marriage, Sridhar and his family began harassing her demanding more dowry, said the police referring to Suruthi’s complaint.
The police registered a case against Sridhar and his family members launched a search for them.
