Two persons were crushed to deathand seven injured when a lorry ploughed into a group of peoplewalking along the National Highway to a temple here, policesaid.
The group of about 50 devotees from Neikarapatty were ontheir way to Uthmasholapuram when the mishap occurred, theysaid.
The lorry from Maharashtra was on its way to Namakkal.
The injured have been hospitalised, police said.
In another mishap at nearby Ethapur, two persons on a twowheeler were crushed to death when they were hit by a lorrywhile crossing the road, they said.
