The new service rules, revision of pay scales by downgrading pay scale and recruitment rules that the government is trying to put in place based on the entitled V Central Pay commission (CPC) would not be applicable for existing employees serving in 67 cadres. It would be applicable only for new recruitments, both direct and departmental (through promotions), clarified Dr S Sundaravadivelu, Special Secretary , Department of Personal and Administrative Reforms.
Though the government of India is yet to approve the upgraded payscales , the existing staff would continue to get pay as per the upgraded pay scales as in vogue, he added.
