Minister of State in the PMO VNarayanasamy today appealed to Karnataka Government to releaseCauvery water to Tamil Nadu on humanitarian groundsconsidering the plight of farmers whose crops are withering.
"I request the Karnataka government to act and releasewater on humanitarian grounds," he told reporters when askedabout alleged suicides of some farmers in Cauvery deltadistricts in Tamil Nadu.
On Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's letter to PrimeMinister Manmohan Singh on the delay in issuance of DigitalAddressable System licence to Arasu Cable TV Corporation, hesaid he had personally spoken to Singh and the Information andBroadcasting Minister and hoped to have a discussion with allstakeholders and arrive at a good solution soon.
