Peedam to fund marriage hall at Pallikonda temple

Sakthi Amma, pontiff of Sri Narayani Peedam which built the Golden Temple here, would offer `50 lakh to construct a marriage hall at Sri Ranganathar Temple in Pallikonda.

In a statement, Anaicut MLA M Kalaiarasu, who accompanied Sakthi Amma to Ranganathar temple in Pallikonda on Sunday on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi, said that the pontiff while responding to pleas made by devotees regarding the temple lacking facilities, including adequate number of Poojaris, owing to minimal revenue generated by the temple, promised to construct a marriage hall under the aegis of the Sri Narayani Peedam.

The cost of the proposed marriage hall would be around `50 lakh and revenue generated from it would be allotted to meet the requirements of the Pallikonda temple.

Kalaiarasu said that the peedam was engaged in various activities such as greening the city, extending assistance for medical emergencies to the needy and supporting education of the deserving and needy students.
