A unique testing lab in Ambur to certify footwear

While Ambur is a leading leather hub, producing over 45 per cent of the country’s leather, the town houses a first-of-its-kind testing facility in the country that provides ‘Fit Mark’ and ‘Footwear Mark’ certifications.

These are benchmark certifications for footwear industries that comply with international safety and environment standards.

The testing facilitys currently is being utilised by over 50 companies from India and Indonesia and Italy. Sureshkumar, regional head, Bangalore said the certifications, started a year back by TUV-SUD, an international service provider specialised in testing, inspection, auditing, certification and other knowledge services.
