Disgraced former telecom minister and DMK leader A Raja will arrive here on Friday evening from Delhi. His supporters from his native district of Perambalur and his Parliamentary constituency of Nilgiris intend to accord him a grand reception at the Chennai airport.
Raja, the main accused in the 2G spectrum scam, is scheduled to call on DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and is likely to visit Nilgiris after a couple of days stay in Chennai. However, DMK sources did not confirm his travel plans in the State.
This is his first visit to TN after he spent 15 months in Delhi’s Tihar jail. He was arrested by the CBI on February 2, 2011 and was granted bail on February 15 this year by a special CBI court.
