Vellore MP, Abdul Rahman on Monday warned banks against not following the norms of granting education loans to the students, and harassing them.
In interaction with parents and students at the grievance day meet held at the Vellore Collectorate, Rahman said. “Though the Central Government has given clear directions and had laid a common policy to sanction education loans, the banks follow their own rules.”
“I have asked bankers to stick to a common policy,” said Rahman. “I will observe the situation for another month; if the banks fail to correct themselves, I will take up the issue with the Union Government.”
