Two kids test positive for dengue

Two children, one from Madurai district and another from Sivaganga, tested positive for dengue here on Monday.

An 11-year old girl of Tiruparankundram in Madurai  and a 10-year old girl from Manamadurai in Sivaganga were admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH)  with fever and their blood samples were sent to Madurai Medical College for analysis.

Test reports confirmed that the girls had dengue. They were being treated at the Child Health and Research Centre.

Nine other persons infected with dengue were undergoing treatment at GRH.

“Intensive treatment is being provided to the dengue patients. All are stable and are recovering well,” said a senior doctor.

One case in Erode

One dengue case has been reported from Erode district. According to sources, five persons from Daasnaikkanpalayam near Andhiyur with symptoms of dengue were admitted to Coimbatore GH. Their blood samples were taken and sent for test. Of the five, Janaki (30) wife of  , tested positive for dengue. While she was being given continuous treatment, others were discharged from the hospital.
