Headmistress booked for caning class XII boy

A student of class XII at a private matriculation higher secondary school lodged a complaint with the Gudiyattam Town Police against the school headmistress alleging that she had beaten him during the school hours on Wednesday. The police have registered a case against the HM, Jayakudi, under section 341 and 323 of IPC and are investigating.

Police said Jayakudi asked all students of class XII to write about themselves for self assessment. While all the students finished the assignment and handed over it to the teacher, Karuna Singh, a resident of Gudiyattam, refused to do so.

Angered over this, the HM had allegedly beaten him with a cane, police said quoting the student’s complaint. Following this, the boy lodged a complaint with the police, who in turn registered a case against the HM and are investigating.
