Union Minister of State for PMO V Narayanasamy, on Monday, scoffed at the BJP for being indecisive in finalising its candidate for the Presidential elections while claiming that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has announced the name of Pranab Mukherjee by taking into confidence all the allies.
“There is no consensus in the party with different opinions being expressed by its leaders and allies . The party is struggling to take a decision on account of it,” said Narayanasamy while addressing party cadres at the Congress party office on the occasion of 42nd birthday celebrations of AICC General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi.
Calling the choice of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee as presidential candidate the most appropriate, Narayanasamy said that he was a competent leader who had served the party and government since the time of Indira Gandhi. He had bright chances of success because of support coming from a number of parties. He appealed to Pradesh Congress and Legislative party to extend full support for Pranab Mukherjee.
