Residents of Vadamambakkam closed down a TASMAC bar and staged a protest to close the TASMAC outlet near Arakkonam on Tuesday.

The outlet attached with the bar was functioning in the area for the past four years.

The local residents have held several protests, demanding its closure. They complained that the people who frequent the outlet involve in anti-social activities.

Tuesday’s protest was led by the district deputy president of the Pattali Makkal Katchi’s youth wing, Shankar. He along with the residents closed down the bar and also attempted to close the TASMAC shop.

However, Arakkonam town police inspector, Ponnabalam along with the revenue inspector (Excise), Rajasekar arrived at the spot and pacified the public.
