In a murky turn, a complaint has been lodged with the Silaiman police that Ravi (45), who was accused of raping a 11-year-old girl, had also sexually abused her 8-year-old sister.
Devakumar, father of the girls, learnt about the sexual abuse of his second child from his elder daughter, currently undergoing treatment at the Government Rajaji Hospital. After confirming the abuse, Devakumar lodged a complaint against Ravi with Silaiman police.
Ravi was arrested on Monday in connection with rape of the 11-year-old girl with the consent of her mother. The mother was also arrested. Police said Devakumar, who was a cook and was unaware of the abuse.
