Engineering student found dead on railway tracks

A 22-year-old student from Kerala studying at a private engineering college near Vadakkankulam in Tirunelveli district was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the railway track near Aralvoimozhy in Kanyakumari district on Thursday.

 Railway Police got information about a body lying on the railway track near Aralvoimozhy. “We found the body lying near the tracks some half kms from the Aralvoimozhy railway station in the Nagercoil - Tirunelveli stretch. The deceased is Arjun Raj, a final-year Electronics and Communication engineering student at a private college in Vadakkankulam. Arjun was a native of Pongaladi, near Pandalam, in Pathanamthitta district. He was staying in a rented house at Aralvoimozhy with some eight roommates from Kerala,’ a railway police source said.

His father Somarajan is working as a driver in Muscat and mother Usha Rajan is a housewife . “We are investigating it as a suspected murder case,” Nagercoil Town Deputy Superintendent of Police Baskaran told Express.
