NR government a failure, says CPI

CPI Puducherry unit secretary R Viswanathan slammed chief minister N Rangasamy for following same policies of the previous Congress government in the UT.

Addressing reporters, he said the NR government lacked alternative policies on many issues confronting the state now.

The Communist leader said the government had decided to raise the electricity charges, but failed to collect the huge dues, which some of the industries owe to the government.

He demanded that the NR government should scrap the contentious regional reservation since it would affect meritorious students.

The CPI leader also pointed out that the government was yet to pay up the dues to the sugarcane farmers and seed farmers for supplying their produces.

He even criticised the minority educational institutions for escaping from the purview of Right to Education Act.
