Even as the issue of regional reservation is snowballing, leader of the opposition V Vaithilingam on Thursday urged the administration to constitute a committee and review the entire gamut of regional reservation with regard to admission in professional courses across the Union Territory.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday,  Vaithil ingam, however, maintained that regional reservation was necessary and scraping it would lead to imbalances. The quantum of reservation could be modified to ensure that students in no region were affected.

Vaithilingam maintained that now the government had got all rights to review the issue and take appropriate decisions ensuring that students of all regions got equal opportunities and no one was affected .
