CPM plans stir during PM’s visit

The Puducherry unit of the CPM will organise a demonstration in front of the university on June 26, prior to the visit of  Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on June 29.

The Puducherry unit of the CPM will organise a demonstration in front of the university on June 26, prior to the visit of  Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on June 29.

V Perumal, secretary of the local unit, said they would protest enhancement of tuition fees in the university, and against the ban on student political activities  inside and outside the campus. Their demands would also include jobs for those who had provided land for the university and appointment of new vice-chancellor besides filling up of 1477 vacant posts and speedy enquiry of Jataraman (a university staff) murder case.
