The traffic police on Thursday made the following diversions in connection with the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.On Friday (from 3.45 pm to 6 pm), vehicles coming by ECR from Chennai and Marakanam side bound for Puducherry will be diverted from Kizhputhupet via Ozhandiapet, Kattrampakam and Tinidvanam road to reach Gorimedu.
Light motor vehicles will not be permitted from Kalapet to Rajnivas on the ECR, MG Road, Sardar Vallabhai Patel Salai and Beach Road.
On Saturday, heavy vehicles coming from Tindivanam side via Kamarajar Salai as well as the heavy vehicles going via ECR Road will be diverted from Indira Gandhi Square to Gorimedu side via NH 45-A Road, Gundu Salai, Mettupalayam junction, Industrial Estate Road and ESI Road to proceed to Chennai side via Tindivanam Road.
Heavy vehicles coming from Tindivanam and bound for Puducherry will be diverted from Gorimedu via Truck Terminal Road junction, ESI Road, Industrial Estate Road, Mettupalayam junction, Gundu Salai, NH 45-A Road and Indira Gandhi square.
LMVs coming from Puducherry bus stand and Cuddalore side via ECR road will be diverted from Indira Gandhi via NH 45-A Road, Gundu Salai, etc and Truck Terminal junction.
