PM’s 2-day Pondy visit from Friday

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive on a two-day visit to the Union Territory on June 29 for attending programmes at Pondicherry University and JIPMER.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive on a two-day visit to the Union Territory on June 29 for attending programmes at Pondicherry University and JIPMER.

Singh will arrive at Pondicherry University directly from Chennai by helicopter and dedicate the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asian Regional Cooperation for Peace. 

In the morning, Singh would visit the Sri Manakula Vinayagar temple and the Aurobindo Ashram, where he would pay homage at the memorials of Sri Aurobindo and his spiritual collaborator The Mother. Union minister of State for PMO, V Narayanasamy, Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh and Chief Minister N Rangasamy would also be present.

 After the JIPMER convocation, Singh would arrive at the Lawspet helipad from where he would fly out.
