VELLORE: Seven mentally ill men and women, who were wandering the streets of Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts, were rescued on Friday by NGO volunteers. They were sent to the government-supported Home for Socio-psychological Rehabilitation run by an NGO at Tirupattur. According to Ramesh, in-charge of the home, Jayapriya (38) was found in Chengam, Vijaya alias Kavitha (25), near Ambur, Saroja (40), Susila (45), Kannika (35), Vijayakumar (30)and Santhanam (50) were found in Vellore.
