TIRUCHY: The Guruvayaur-Chennai Express was halted for about 30 minutes when it hit a two-wheeler near Ariyamangalam, here, on Thursday. However, there were no casualties. The train that departed from Tiruchy junction at 2.25 pm was forced to halt when it approached Ariyamangalam after the engine driver realised that the train had hit a two-wheeler.

Reportedly, a youth, who was pushing his bike and trying to cross the track, on seeing the train realised that he would not have sufficient time to cross the track. He immediately abandoned the bike on the track and ran away. The bike was crushed by the speeding train.
