Attempt at Guinness record at Kanchipuram

CHENNAI: Sathya Diabetic Center attempted a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of students dressed as surgeons at Aruna Mahal, Kanchipuram on April 23 at 3 pm. Around 1000 students of SSKV Matriculation Higher Secondary School participated in the event. The students carried banners about awareness of diabetes. The previous record for a gathering related to the medical field was a gathering of 201 people dressed as nurses in Birmingham few months ago.

K Rajagopal BSc BL was the chief witness with 20 other witnesses – one for every 50 students and two timekeepers. Dr V Sathyanarayanan, the organiser, spoke about the record attempt and about diabetes.

Teachers from across the state participated in the function.
