COIMBATORE: Vasuki, a woman sub-inspector, who was included as a witness in the Muskan-Rithik siblings murder case, was cross-examined by the accused Manoharan’s counsel on Monday. Vasuki was serving at the Variety Hall Road police station when the siblings were kidnapped and later murdered in October 2009. According to the prosecution, Vasuki was in the station and had full knowledge of the events that took place on the fateful day. The parents of the siblings initially lodged a missing complaint with the Variety Hall Road police.

The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for Wednesday when A Saravanan, assistant director, Mobile Forensic Science Laboratory (MFSL), Coimbatore City, is likely to be cross-examined by Manoharan’s counsel.

Meanwhile, advocate S Rajendran, who was recently appointed as Manoharan’s counsel by the free legal aid cell, said that he would soon file a petition seeking re-examination of the witnesses already cross-examined.

“I have sought 10 days to file the petition listing the witnesses whom I want to re-examine,” he said.
